When we found out the team for tonight most were branding it a "disgrace". Nearly everyone on here including myself were upset that he chose 3 defensive mids..... I would like to apologise to the man himself, as he clearly got it right today : ) Im sure other blues would do the same.... Happy days

i was also disapointed when i first saw the formation, didnt think it was bad, just thought it could have been better.

ended up being perfect.

im such a n00b.

I posted before kick off in the matchday forum that I wasn't happy with the team he selected. More than delighted to have it proved that I don't know what I'm talking about, though! :)

What a great night. Match finished at 1 a.m. and was browsing the online reactions for a good while after that, then was up at six for an early stat in the office. Amazing how much easier it was than usual to get up after 4 hours' sleep after a 3-0 win over Liverpool!

I was going to start a topic this morning to say sorry to Bobby Manc after the team selection I thought we would get done! That's why I'm not on silly money a week to manage our club and he is. Best performance under bobby so far

Great to hear the 'Mancini' chants last night. This is beginning to look more like his idea of a team -
mentality: we do not lose
versatile players
tactically flexible

Flexible 4 - 3 - 3
4 - 1+2 - 2+1 against Spurs
4 - 2+1 - 2+1 last night

Expect conservative formations while Mancini waits for team to, in his words, "gel"

Attacking formation:
4 - 3 - 3 L:Silva/ C:Tevez/ R: Balotelli

Mancini post match interview:
"mentality important"

Phil McNulty’s BBC blog:
<a class="postlink" href="http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/philmcnulty/2010/08/eastlands_sheikh_mansour_bin_z.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/philmcnulty/ ... bin_z.html</a>
"the verve and sheer power that, in the best footballing sense, bullied Liverpool out of this game was impressive to behold .... power and cohesion ... assured"
Jamie Redknapp:
<a class="postlink" href="http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1305569/Jamie-Redknapp-gives-verdict-Manchester-Citys-win-Liverpool-Eastlands.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footba ... lands.html</a>
"elusive and flexible 4 – 3 – 3 system ... won the midfield"

I think last night Mr Mancini proved why HE's paid to be the manager and we're all just punters, yes?
