Back in 1989 I had my first book published. It’s been out of print since 1990 but I’ve now scanned my only surviving copy. That can be downloaded now by subscribers to my website here:

It’s some way off being my best work but it was the first and so will always mean a lot to me. If it hadn’t have been for the City fans who bought it and the support I received from the fanzines back then I probably wouldn’t have written another book. So thanks to all who helped me back then (that excludes a certain director who I was told would help but all he did was criticise and then take 2 books off me instead of the one I’d told him I’d give - ah well! One day I’ll tell all).

I know not everyone wants to subscribe to a website like mine and I get that but if you are interested subscribers can also download the entire 200,000+ word Manchester A Football History too, plus 370+ articles/posts.

Thanks

Bought it when it came out Gary , and most of you others

Got all your City books.
Was flicking through the Manchester derby one the other day.Have you any plans to update it?
I’d love to and we did write new material about 5 years ago on the games from 1991 but finding a publisher was/is a nightmare. Nobody wants to publish the book. I’ve posted some of the new stuff in my website:

Next year,2020,is 10 years since your "Manchester the City years" masterpiece.
Would be a good time to update that book or a new book covering that decade.

edit 2022 not 2020.

Still got my copy in mint condition. Fantastic book ! Keep writing and producing them Gary.

I’d love to but publishers won’t take a gamble any more on expensive books like that to produce.
you had a lot of subscribers for that book before it was printed if i remember correctly
and I'm sure if you updated or did a 2012- 2022 book the same people would subscribe again
I'm pretty certain it was under £20 for everything ,postage etc
Go on,get it done,you know you want to,us lot too ! ;-)

looks like a few then. Will keep mine for a grandson one day, my lads dont really read.
