My 2nd cousin tried to buy City

Mad eyed screamer,

I knew Peter Donoghue, he lived around the corner, and big my brother was friendly with him.
Peter Donohue was one of many young "teenage" boys who stood in line for a few moments chat with my oldest sister. Albert Tracy was another, a lad who famously served his National Service at the Stockport Rd Pay Corps office.

I know a little more about Peter's later life but would only care to share it in a private email. He was a very clever and determined young man. Making one's way from Moss Side, in the world of the post-war 1950's, would have been no easy business.

Interesting in that most of the successful business risk takers from that district were Irish or of Irish descent.

Chris Muir's son was in my class at Grammar School in the late 70s/early 80s. I am sure that he was still a director then with Swales in charge, but it is a long time ago for this old man to remember clearly! I am aware that Chris Muir died [was it last year?] so RIP and condolences to the family. Civilised people with socialist principles, who loved the club [and I am sure still do].

Chris Muir passed away around 10 years ago I think. I assume you are talking about his son Graham, did you go to William Hulme? Think Graham lives in New Zealand these days

Someone from these posts recently - June? - tried to contact me. Please try again, i find talking about that vanished world fascinating.
