is it a bad idea to take my 3 old son to a live match. got tickets for the celtic game for him and myself, but some people say its a bad idea becoz of the noise levels for such little ears.

do you guys think he'll be ok, or should i wait a couple more years?

thanks

Never mind the poor little lad's ear's, just think of the year's of misery he is going to be subjected to. As everybody know's once your bitten.

I took my son when he was two and he now has a season ticket. But you did not need to purchase a ticket up to the age of 4-5 you can take them in for free and sit them on your knee.

I would think he should be OK. Just take plenty of drinks, crisps, sandwiches, sweets etc to keep him happy and amused. You may find you spend more time trying to entertain him than watching the game. Be warned he will get bored very quickly lol

great idea i took my lad when he was 2 they lose a bit of interest at that age and become a bit bored, but yes take him along

In my experience it can go either way... be careful you don't want to put him of for life, or next few years anyway. My 3 yr old lads first game was Home in FA cup when Cole scored the winner near the end, sat near the back not a problem, then his next one was when Folan the terrible scored the winner @home v Wigan in the league, gettin sucked into the relegation zone was a distinct possibility, Worzal was in his last rites and the atmosphere was hostile to say the least, little lad fuckin hated it had to leave @ halftime, Mrs had to pick him up [that went down well!] don't think his Dads reaction helped much though too... in these more showboaty times i'm sure you'll be fine, it's his Dads behaviour that will be the key though mate - good luck!

Does he sit and watch matches all the way through at home? If so I'd imagine a live one would catch his attention - as for the noise, if Eastlands is ever as noisy as half a dozen three year olds shouting at each other I'll be stunned.

I had thought of taking my 4yr old daugher but sat in front of a little girl of similar age at the Youth Cup quarters and she got bored after ten minutes, once she'd asked all the questions about "who mowed the lawn" and "where did the little men come from". She was most displeased by the blatant "only ten minutes to go" lies which she called with a "but you've said that twice now", and the look on her face when she realised that after half time the little men were going to be running about again was priceless.

Both my kids attended their first matches before they turned 3 and were both fine with the noise. I suppose it would really boil down the nature of the kid as I have seen others who are just not interested and would rather sit and munch sweets all day.
