Quality as always Mike, can't wait to see the "Yaya" one finished in a couple of months.
I've done a couple myself lately, not to the quality of yours mate.
Amy Winehouse, Joe Hart, Morrissey and a couple for my "Rag" mates, which I couldn't possibly post on here for the fear of death threats lol.
Gonna start a Zabaleta one, Rolling Stones and Audrey Hepburn one soon too.
When I get round to them.
I think you need to be in the mood and have the spare time too.

Keep up the good work.
And my David Silva one pal ;-)

I'll have to find you another Silva one to do, Crizack has already done "that one" and I am not copying his work!!
I will do you one though mate. ;)

Ha,Cheers mucka ;-)

I had seen this style of painting a few times recently. And I wanted to have a go at one myself, I was gonna do a city one at first but then decided to do one of my son for my lounge. Im no artist and hadn't done anything since school, but I cant believe how easy this type of art is. I had asked for advice how to do it off a few people who I have seen do this type if work, but they have been unwilling to give me any. So I did a bit of research myself. Anybody who wants to give it ago pm me and I will let you know step by step. Seriously, its a piece of piss.

Here's my project... still a lot of work to do but look how easy it is. It cost me about £30 for an acrylic paint set and a 80 x 100cm canvas. I used a piece of carbon paper to transfer the image to the canvas perfectly. With the use of that and photoshop it basically turned it into a paint by numbers picture without the numbers. You can have as much or as little detail as you like.

Picture below is what it will look like and rest are of my progress so far.

New painting in the works, will be the best one i've done so far (by far)...going to take a few months aswell. The size is going to be pretty damn large :)

Mate, if your painting looks even half as good as that I'll be very, very envious. Can't wait to see the finished piece. Loving your style.

PS - There's a big, big difference between your work (style) and the "magic wand" stuff shown above (technique) - just wanted to let you know that some of us can tell the difference.

(edit - he's removed it now)

Rubbish. hes used the same technique. I.e. a program like photoshop to break it down into block colours as I did. Look at the picture you quoted, its been used on that. He may draw it onto the canvas freehand copying the design he does on the computer. whereas I used carbon paper as i wanted the painting of my son to be perfect. But that will be the only difference.

Well said.
It's a worthwhile and people love them so theres no harm in it but it's asking a lot to label it an artistic endevour as the composition and lighting (ie the hard part) is handled by whoever took the pre modified photograph etc that being said it's often used on art foundation courses to help people begin to understand colour relationships and If people are willing to pay for crizack to translate that image for them then more power to him.

Please show us how the portrait of your son turns out.

Mate, my intention wasn't to down you, it was to up him. But you said yourself that it's the first time you've attempted anything of this nature since you were at school, yes? All, I was saying was that he has probably done it a few more times than you and has developed and refined the method by learning how to use the tools (photoshop or whatever) so as to create a more pleasing image. You may have used a similar technique, you may have even used the same technique, but I imagine that you used the magic wand in photoshop whilst he probably used the lasso. One is quick and easy and the other is more painstakingly slow. One creates a more grainy image whilst the other creates a more crisp image. I agree that it's an easy technique to use but it's a difficult one to master.

Here's my attempt at Joe Hart using the same technique. See the difference?
Once again, no offence meant.
