I have just got back from Spain a couple of hours ago, and this "incident" had just reared up on the Forum the day I left for my Hols.

Am I right in assuming that the initial posts on the thread this time last week where it was assumed that Cook had been in South Africa and somebody else had sent the e mail were wrong and Cook did send it - then got caught backtracking in his, what was in effect a lie?; therefore he had to resign??

Excellent writing again by Toma. "Pulitzer" stuff compared to your average Sun Journalist.

Ha cheers mate. Yeah Cook's daft decision to try and create a smokescreen of a mysterious hacker was only going to end in his departure.

Thanks for the comments guys. Never written anything like this before. I was asked to put together a '5 Reasons Cook Had To Go' using examples from his past in a straightforward 700-word piece but ended up getting carried away!

All this talk about cook selling city "the brand"...well crowds at home havent exactly gone through the roof, and there have been sparse crowds at our worldwide pre season friendlies.

what didn't surprise me was the fact that when cook went almost a day after maybe two it was like nothing had ever happened it seems the job was done not just from the media but also city?
