My first ever LIVE match...

APRIL 7th 1979. My dad took me to city v wolves. We won 3-1 with goals from Mick Channon, Roger Palmer and Barry Silkman. We were in the main stand and I couldn't see much but the atmosphere was amazing to a 9 year old.

I've just found it on YouTube, god it makes me feel old but also makes me quite emotional...I was completely overawed by it all on the day!

It was a few days after my 8th Birthday, I remember having to choose my main Birthday present of some Action Man stuff or going to my first ever City game!

City 1 Chelsea 1 1971

Keith Weller opens the scoring for Chelsea in front of two cranes and a scaffold at the bombsite that used to be the Scoreboard End.
City are hopeless, everybody around me moaning, even though we face the same opponents in the ECWC semi final the following midweek.
Francis Lee contrives to barge the Chelsea centre half and rifle a dubious last minute equalizer.

I knew it would be shit, but too late. The addiction had kicked-in and more than a 1000 games later I’m still here.

This is mine V Oldham got beat 4-1 hooked

Drove my two neighbours who were Yonners to that game. Couldn't be arsed afterwards and left them in Moss Side.

March 1st 1972 played on a Wednesday afternoon beat West Brom 2 -1 King Colin two with his head, took me years to find out why we played on a Wednesday afternoon in March, then My old man explained to me a few years later that it was the era of power cuts so the game was played in the afternoon in case the lights went out.
Always remember there was a bomb scare and we all had to look under our seats for a bomb, HAPPY DAYS!!!
