My First Received Phone Call Attempted Scam...!!

We have some clowns calling here on a regular basis offering air duct cleaning services. On more than one occasion I have told him to go suck a dogs dick. Now when they call I don't say hello, I just wait for him to say hello two or three times, and then he quietly whispers, "fuck you Barker", and hangs up. Lol.

Thanks for sharing! I felt obligated to post because I got a call like that, too. The call came from 206-456-0661 and this lady told me they monitored a virus in my computer that should be removed immediately. But what caught my attention was that the lady claimed she was with Microsoft. And I wondered how would Microsoft detect my problem when first of all, I was using a Mac.

So I hung up and reported the call to CALLERCENTER. And I wasn't mistaken. When I got to the website, a lot of others have already posted complaints about the scammer already.

I love these calls. I work in IT and always string them along. A good one is to ask them what os you are running. Always baffles them usually takes them a good 3 or 4 guesses to get it right. Think I nearly made h last one that rang me cry.

So what are they actually trying to do? Would entering the URL for example enable them to take control of your PC? Just curious as to what they could do if you we're caught unsuspecting?

I posted a couple of months ago that i got a similar phonecall,i played along with his bullshit for a few minutes then i innocently asked him what he was wearing...
He ended up telling me to fuck off which i found ironic seeing as he rang me,nobhead!!

I also got one, 15 mins of my time and my card details and thankfully, my laptop is now virus free ;-)

A few hundred quid is a small price to pay I think, knowing that I can now read off-topic in safety.

Some of these calls cost you money.

I hang up within a few seconds.

I dont even answer them. Caller id is a wonderful thing. It even better when you are sat watching TV and the number appears on the screen. I only answer numbers I know and dont even do that if I am watching City!!! easy as pie!!

BTW there is a version of that scam here in the US of A. They tell you a family member is in trouble and needs some kind of help and tell you they can be reached on some number. You call it ( its in the Dominican Republic) and you get charged like $100/minute!!!
