As some of you know, my girlfriend doesn't exactly live close to me and meetings between us are few and far between. We are seeing eachother in 2 weeks, but it'll be November after that, or possibly even January.

Now, my friend has organised a Hallowe'en themed on Saturday 30th October and because he's friends with my girlfriend too, he's invited her to come down for the weekend. Now because I'm seeing her in 2 weeks, I won't be able to afford £60 worth of tickets in a month due to me being not so rich. But...

My friend has jumped in and offered to go to Glasgow on the train and back in the same day to get her for me.

He's a fucking legend in my eyes now. Top, top guy.

I know you've said you are going up now Bob but just in case there are still doubts.....

Firstly completely discount what your girlfriend has said about not wanting you to 'waste your money on her'. Like someone else has pointed out, this is classic woman-speak and means the precise opposite. She might even mean it as she says this to you....but deep down she would feel something else entirely.

If your mate goes up instead of you your girlfriend - no matter how nice she is or how much she loves you - will think less of you. In the worst possible way too. She will think you are less of a man.
Again, like the first bit, she probably wont acknowledge this - even to herself - but the slightening of her respect for you will be there within her.

And worse still then we have your mate (who may very well be doing this with the best and most honourable of intentions) going all the way up there to escort her back.
He is now a knight in shining armour. In every possible sense he is now 'da man'.
And they will spend a considerable amount of time - just the two of them together - on the train down. Talking. In a situation where he is almost being her substitute boyfriend for a few hours.

So, although some of the others on here think he will bang her on the train, I dont personally think so.
But he will be seen in a different way by her from that journey onwards.
And far far worse than that....she will see you differently too.

Go get her.
There are times in life when having no money just doesnt come into play.
