As I said on a thread recently, that badge will always be associated with City falling from being one of the premier clubs of this country to being an absolute joke of a club. But that song is my favourite City song. Overall, okay flag.

Seems like a bit of a random thing to put on that particular banner.

I think the idea is the juxtaposition between the sentiment of the song and the reality of the end of last season. The banner asks the reader to examine their support of Manchester City and the emotions it stirs. It challenges the heart and soul to accept the wayward nature, and occasional joy, of football support. It also throws a humorous challenge to supporters of other teams, in the best tradition of football rivallry. I'd say it's situationism at it's best.

Blimey Dave, that vey high-brow. You been watching all them pillocks on the Review Show?

Class.

However-

Definition of situationism
noun
[mass noun]
1.the theory that human behaviour is determined by surrounding circumstances rather than by personal qualities.
2.A revolutionary political theory which regards modern industrial society as being inevitably oppressive and exploitative.

Perhaps your mate would like to comment on how he sees his flag in relation to the two theories espoused here.....-:)

This sort of response always makes me laugh.

When someone asks "what do you think of..." is there a law that states we have to get our tongues out and start rimming everyone? When someone asks for opinions on things there are going to be a number of negative ones. If people can't accept that or deal with it there's something wrong. Nobody has to go out and do better just because they don't particularly like something when asked what they think to it. You can just not like it.

People should learn to let people have an opinion.

(this isn't a dig at just you Dog, just a general post in response to a "you do better" post.)

I understand situationism - I went to the hacienda.

The flag itself is not situationist, but my mates holding it aloft and singing 'championes' definitely is ;-)

If you are talking about 1998-1999 that was our new badge not this one...i associate this badge with many things but a joke of a club is certainly not one of them.
