My response to Scholes and co

Nice one mate .... spot on.

Despite all we have now, I too am finding myself becoming more and more disillusioned with the game as it's become. I see 'our' club slowly becoming much of what we always despised about others .... and feel we the fans are slipping down the ladder of importance ...

Great read.

Absolutely 100% spot .on is there no national letters page or remotely sympathetic journo out there to get it to a wider readership ? It deserves it .well done

It can happen. As long as there is a groundswell of readership on social media you can sometimes get weird little off-shoots from it. Was asked to be on Radio 4 from a Norwich article one time and something I wrote on the London Paralympics was published in the London Evening Standard.

Hopefully similar might happen here because this is a very rare example of something I've written where I'm not arsed about getting hits for my site - and certainly dont expect to get financial gain from it - but just want it out there.
Genuinely fucks me off how things are heading and there should be a counter-argument put forward.

As others have said, excellent article.

It was interesting that the day after the Aston Villa match Sky Sports News interviewed a former Villa player (I'm sorry I can't remember his name) and asked his thoughts on how Villa could encourage the stay away supporters back to the ground. His solution? Villa should go out and spend 10's of millions on a mega star. Of course he didn't actually know which 'mega star' might wish to fuck up a promising career with a major club chasing honours to join a team managed by Lambert and Keane and throw themselves into a relegation dog fight without a thought for their own future prospects. Neither did he have any idea where the finances to support this revolutionary theory may come from. It obviously didn't occur to him that ultimately the Villa fans would end up paying for the guy earning 150k a week who never wanted to be there in the first place and that it would inevitably set the club back years. They really do live on another planet, I believe it's called "Planet Me"

Dont post on here much,
but after reading that just had to,
absolutely excellent article and agree with every word.
