My Sons First Game is on Saturday. Remember yours?

My first game would have been around 1963/4 at Maine Road against Huddersfield Town. Can't remember the score or much about the day but it was in the days when you were allowed in at 3/4 time for free and my dad took me for the first time. Happy memories!

Wolves at home the season we came up to the Prem under Big Daft Joe. In the North Stand with my Dad. needless to say we lost Robbie Keane with the only goal. I remember wanting to go home at half time (I feeling which I've since had on a number of occasions). However wafter the game I was desperate to go agian. CTID ever since.

Hope your lad (and the rest of us) enjoy saturday.

It always baffels me when people can remember everything about their first game (score, players, date, what colour undies they had on etc) I honestly cant remember what year my first match was in let alone who we played. It must have been some time in the late 80's but apart from that I havent got a feckin clue!
I don`t know who we played but it was in the late 60s. My dad use to take us to 5 or 6 games a season at the time, they all seem to blur into one.
That`s what old age does to you.

Bringing my son to his first game on Saturday against Villa.
Comming from the Isle of Man so its going to be a BIG day for him.
He is 11yrs old and mad for City.
He has never seen more than a couple of thousand people at one time so this will be a real eye opener. We will be in the North Stand.

My first game I remember Peter Barnes running down the wing and me screaming advice to him. My dad that day I realised was ace.
And I was hooked, now Blue through and through. Till I die.

Whilst I know I went to games before this the first one I recall was Jan 1981 (?), Norwich at home in FA Cup, won 6-0 ..... little did I know what was to come over the 29 years since then !!!

I hope you and your lad have a fantastic day mate I really do.

Sheff Utd Dec 1974

We won 3-2. I know now that Marsh, and Bell scored. I think I remember a fat Alan Oakes

I was thrilled to go to the football with my Dad.

I don't remember the early games at all, but I remember the anticipation of parking up, walking the same route, watching the floodlights get bigger and bigger and catching the odd glimpse of the ground between the houses before seeing the whole ground loom before you as you rounded the corner of Platt Lane and Yew Tree Rd.

My favourite memory is the sight of the green pitch after you climed up the steps, and entered the ground. everything about City just felt right, and it was home.

Well my first game was at maine road, we played Oldham Athletic and they hammered us 4-1 roger palmer with an hatrick. 29th August 1988.

Youtube video You gotta watch it brings back memories!!

My first was City vs Bristol City at Maine Road!
We won 2-1 with goals from Peter Barnes and Gary Owen, I was 14 and had gone on my own as my Dad followed the un-mentionables!! :-(
I ended up in 'J' Block uncovered somehow, with the Bristol City fans! but my biggest memory of the game and everything that went with it was my first view of a nearly full 'Kippax', one thing I will never forget!
"F**k me! I'm going in there next time!!!!" were my thoughts ;-)

That was my first game too! I was 7
