My view of the Spuds match

Even I don’t rate my ability to read a game but I honestly think many of you are being way too harsh on MH and the lads.

It was only 10 days ago (after Arsenal and Chelsea deserved wins) that we were hailing MH the new messiah.

We started the match with an attacking mentality (hoping their Achilles is still their defence) and created the better chances. Their defence, on the day was strong enough to shut out Adebayor and we were left with half chances…but we were controlling the game.

Obviously, due to injuries (Bridge and Bellers), our weakness was the left flank that side of the team would have struggled against anyone. One they used Lennon they created chances but we defended well enough for their shots to be hurried and to be honest embarrassing.

Once they scored we played the game (rightly in my opinion) like a cup-tie which was always going to allow them more chances.

The substitutions I think worked. Petrov showed good pace and RSC, at last, looked dangerous.

If we had taken our earlier chances we could have had all 3 points I believe.
Totaly agree.

I don't rate your ability to read a game either!
At no point were we in control of that game, there were holes in our midfield big enough to build a housing estate on!

I agree with some of your points but many on here wont, prepare yourself!

I haven't seen much of the Spuds fixture, but what I have been able to piece together, the OP could be a legitimate description of the sorry affair.

Your cup isn't half empty, then. In fact, it's full to the brim and spilling all over the floor

So its not just me that thinks the scoreline flattered Spurs !!! Thank god for that I thought I was going mad. I do think Spurs looked the more threatening but territorially we were on top for large parts of the game.

We were in the game until they got the first goal.

Maybe mh will get replaced but I hope to god it's
with proven quality (ie morinio (sp))

433 formation was all wrong, we played a high line allowing fast wingers to get in behind us! Midfield was swamped!

Our achillies heel.Everyone but Hughes could see that Lennon was going to skin Sylvinho. Our left side has been a defensive abonination for two seasons.
It would be interesting to see what percentage of goals against have started on that side of the pitch with a mistake near the 18 yard line.
