My YouTube channel - Episode 47 (P25)

When are you closing shop for the winter months? I know you said you are filming enough bridges to cover the time spent hunkering down for winter.
I’m flying to Tampa for a week on Friday. Thursday I’m driving to Burlington and doing 7 hopefully 8 bridges on the way.
Then I fly back next Wednesday, stay overnight in Burlington and do 5 bridges on the way back the next day. That takes me to 72 bridges and enough episodes to last until mid April next year!

Just got round to this video after an incredibly busy day.

On first approach it looks like the council have come in and boarded that entrance up for the winter. It also looks a very solid affair inside.

I'm not surprised the town council came to the conclusion to make the old bridge structurally safe, much better than mundane soulless iron and concrete.

That abutment looked like it was painted silver, is that the same river as before, the green river?

In spite of Indian burial sites and maniacal Frogs you got it done :)

Yes the same river / creek as episode 40, 42 and 43

Quick note about the quality of the videos and the general production of them and how much they have improved over the series.

That is a fancy bit of signage there, none of this utilitarian shit for this bridge.Incredible how many families were involved in building series of bridges through Vermont.

Eyeing up a way to get to the water without meeting Yosemite Sam shouting "Get off my land" or you slipping to your doom in the rapids :)

The second old still in is that a loading bay hanging over the river or just a balcony?

The view of those rocks looks like the scene where Rambo offs the Russian in one of the Rambo films.

Same fancy writing on the mill name as there is on the bridge, another enjoyable video thanks mate and keep them coming.

Marked for later, still tee shirt weather in the land of the barbarian I see though :)
This episode was filmed 21st August, 2 days after the infamous falling in the river episode!
I have filmed at 13 bridges over the last week to take me to 71
That’s it filming wise until April, so there will be sunshine throughout the winter, all t shirts apart from the last 5.
Right now it is t shirt weather from 9am to 4pm and then it’s wrap up time

Thanks for the nice comments, yes a lot of folk have said how the production has improved. You have to understand until last November I had absolutely no idea how to do anything other than turn a computer on and go on BlueMoon, a Morrissey website and send emails!
It’s funny how I thought originally the editing would be tedious but I’m at the stage where I may be on level terms about enjoying both recording and editing. It really is great having the equipment I can use at the community TV studio. They lend me an Apple Mac every Friday afternoon to Monday and it’s at home I put the episodes together.

Yes originally it would have been a loading area and now a rather splendid balcony.
Climbing down that one side really hit me half way down when I realised I was being stupid. I was facing one way pressed against the abutment, both hands having a finger tip hold on the abutment ledge and stood on my tip toes in boots on a rock face. I couldn’t go back because I was facing the other way and couldn’t turn my body around. Fortunately I made it across but was a lesson for me to take it easy up there. I’m out there on my own and in many of these areas I don’t have a phone signal….. Funny thing is, my introduction for the bridge was missing when I got home so 2 weeks ago, I went back specifically to film that intro (I was passing near by) and looked at the other side of the abutment I crossed over and there was a clear path leading down!

The traversing explanation made me think of the Piccadilly garden toilets that used to be open and you had to take a leak when the pubs shut, backs to the wall hang on to your wallet and have eyes in the back of your head :)

Up early today due to jetlag from the clocks going back :)

That's some road leading to this bridge.

Fancy plaque too, makes you wonder how long that would stay in situ if it was sited in Blackley :) Mind you that pesky ubiquitous storm Irene did a number on it instead.

Jesus wept fella that path looked a bit on the treacherous side but worth the view, that bridge is sitting very low isn't it?

Nice touch at the end with a topical Halloween drive through.

The path was alright, a bit of a steep bit when I hung onto a handily placed branch but other than that it was a great access point.
Yes quite comical filming the ending in September, puzzled looks from passers by, but knowing it was slotted in for the episode before Halloween.

Are there any signs leading up to that bridge? It just appears seemingly. Only a new bridge but it looks the part doesn't it? Imagine having the financial clout to be able to afford your own private bridge to access your own land?

The Jail Branch river in Vermont got its name from the area it flows through, which was once the location of a jail in the town of Barre. The Jail Branch is a tributary of the Winooski River, and its modern significance is tied to the East Barre Dam, which was built in response to the 1927 flood to provide flood control for the surrounding areas.

I don't know how correct that information is because sometimes the internet lies more than Jurgen Klopps momma.
