Could you put a spoiler on your videos because the sight of those American flags will cause some on here to faint with the vapours.

9 grand is a hell of a lot of money specially in 1866 but it had to be expensive to build being 460 ft and all. Did the bridge finally pay for itself through tolls by 1943 when it became free to cross?

Hahahaha chancing your arm there mate, you should have taken a skateboard but you did it and you did it and remained safe. You could have hitch hiked back over.

Busy cunts stopping people having a drink in 1844 looks like times haven't changed just the same pearl clutchers wanting people to have no fun whatsoever.

Video was worth the wait.

No idea if the tolls paid for the bridge, the reason they were stopped in 1943 was due to the war, petrol and food were rationed so wasn’t many vehicles using the bridge. It proved more costly to collect the tolls than what they were bringing in so New Hampshire scrapped them.

Episode 23

Spot the Manchester band and song and also a saying from another legend

New Order

Everything has gone green

The saying evades me for the moment but the grandchildren tired me out a bit I will get it though :)

Looks like water season has arrived again, did you not take your repaired waders or was it too fast to go in anyway?

Scrub that you explained the reason why later in the vid :)

That looks like a subway in Rochdale albeit more welcoming than the Rochdale one.

Looking forward to seeing the highest bridge in a few episodes, keep up the good work MES.

Disappointed you didn't get the quotation - you know I am, I really am......
Yes that river was very rocky and fast as well as on a gradient. One slip...... but the main thing is I got underneath, which I have in every episode so far (until no 26......)
I'm out on Friday at 7 more bridges (Episodes 28 - 34) including a few more types we have yet to see!
Stay tuned....

Waders on it's a great start and it's a bit rainy too.

I am now a covered bridge truss expert when that bridge goes the truss it's associated with will be gone for all time.

That bridge looks less gappy not as exposed to the outside, does it feel more like a barn on the inside?

My opinion is that it probably needed the skylights and considering how rural that looks light must be helpful for some horse driven transports.

Get those fucking waders sorted :)

I spent yesterday and today editing / putting together the next three episodes.
26 is very exposed but I think you’ll love 27. Different trusses going on all over the show. Maybe not my favourite bridge (though it’s up there) but probably my best film so far. Helped by it being so photogenic.

Next week the waders get their sternest test yet and I upset a duck!

Filmed today at 5 new bridges and paid a quick visit to 3 bridges I filmed at a few weeks back that I had missed bits out.
Amongst the new bridges for me were these two “twin bridges” in North Hartland.

Don't tell me you have mastered the at of droning now?

I Noticed the Bon Jovi reference straight away, it's strange that a bridge that young was built considering most are over a century old, nice to see a bridge that I am considerably older than.

Is this the first bridge with a dedicated walkway? Did you not consider doing the Grand National over the neighbours fence to gain access? That accent might scare a yankee doodle and end up getting you tased and attacked by a fucking Cane Corsa :)

Or on further inspection a Cujo like Duck.

I don't know what it is but the montage of bridge still pictures is an iconic part of these videos. It's a bit annoying that the glass over the plaque is broken by a needless vandal.

Great effort with the wading in this video, always good to see a bit of dedication to the art.

Sounds like a decent judge :)
