Nadim Zahawi

The gall for him to attach vicarious blame to the media; a media that by and large are Tory crusaders. Do you know what does take its toll on families Nadhim, you slippery fucking snake? Bottom-of-the-barrel wages for breadwinners who can just about manage to heat their homes; who don't have means to shovel away millions in offshore tax havens.

I think his family were part of the Iraqi government and in private businesses. We all know that the Iraqi government looked after and kept the money for themselves so I’d suggest they were extremely rich to get a pass to our country.
Not only extremely rich. You can't become extremely rich in a country like that without also being corrupt. It kinda comes with the territory, even if you don't want to.

It’s like Sunak always mentioning his mother, working in a chemists, rather than mentioning his father, working as a GP. They’d gain more respect if they just told people the truth.
Shame his mum didn’t reach for the plentiful supply of contraception pills.

The arrogance of his letter is no surprise, considering what he felt he was entitled to do and get away with.
He really does come across as a complete twat.

He should be kicked out as an Mp the corrupt fucker
See even people who hate the fucker can’t bring themselves to suggest criminal charges. We’ve been conditioned to accept this idea that there’s nothing wrong with rich people dodging taxes they’re due. The worst that should happen should be that he loses his job and have to pay back what he owes.

Who is next I hear you say? What about Jez Hunt (with a C). Fined £100k for avoiding tax in 2018 when his firm reorganised.

“I helped ensure the queue for the Queen’s funeral was really long.”
Clearly a man of many talents.

Sunak smothers himself with glory by taking decisive action the minute its brought to his attention lol

And she owned the chemists, which is not quite the same as 'working' in it!

These cunts will spin anything to try and make them look more 'normal'.

Interesting that they want to give the impression of ‘normality’ and show just how like ‘us’ they are, even if they have to bend facts to do so.
It shows that deep down (not so deep with some of them) that they know that they are different from us plebs.
That is the basis of Tory thinking, and it’s the reason they feel that can get away with anything and everything.

Rags to riches? The man went to two different independent schools, but because he started out in a comp, that's apparently rags to riches. There's this idea that any immigrant that isn't a billionaire is somehow underprivileged. It's bollocks. I remember reading a statistic that the kids of African immigrants are far more likely to study medicine, and I was thinking, "Of course they are. Half their parents are already doctors." Most immigrants from outside of Europe are comfortably upper-middle class in their own country. I think it comes from this American idea where everything has to be seen through the lens of race, so we end up with the absurd situation of congratulating a billionaire for overcoming the barriers in his life to become the first Asian PM, and are treated to a cabinet that is one of the most diverse in history in every sense except which school you went to and how much your dad earned.
I agree with your overall point that we shouldn't think "ethnic minority = poor/disadvantaged", especially when it comes to Zahawi specifically. And there are big differences between different minority groups - Indians as opposed to Pakistanis, for example. But you're wrong about (most) Africans in the UK. For example, "only 2% of Black African households were in the wealthiest fifth of British households pre-pandemic, while more than half were in the least wealthy fifth." https://ifs.org.uk/inequality/press...in-education-but-wages-and-wealth-lag-behind/
