When we played our normal game against Bayern we got raped and most likely would have done last night as well. Pellegrini did very little wrong in terms of tactics and formation. Defending well and hitting them with a counter or set-piece has been the best way to beat them over the past five or six years. Trying to outplay Barcelona does not give you a good chance of winning.
Kolarov was the mistake, had Nasri played from the start we would have had a better time in creating something whenever we would have got in Barca's half, even with ten men and when Nasri came on it gave us more of a creative spark, with XI men who knows.
Wenger got it spot on at the start against Bayern tonight, he got at them and showed Bayern they were the home team, and whenever Arsenal had the ball they played at Premier League intensity, something we did not do last night.
Defensive tactics were spot on from Manuel last night, but we overall showed them far too much respect and didn't play at an intensity which we know hurts teams and playing Kolarov was a sign of being too cautious.
The Bayern home game would have been a different game had we only gone with Sergio up front and put an extra man in midfield such as Silva and started him along with Nasri and Navas, plus they were another side we showed too much respect to on the night as well.
