Same as me! Staying the one night, how would we get back from the ground, as it's about 9km from the centre?

Same as me! Staying the one night, how would we get back from the ground, as it's about 9km from the centre?

Pete the Pompey fan on the other thread has said public transport is pretty good over there so we should be fine.
We'll have to meet up for a beer or three when there

Correct Bill...as I said in the 'Napoli away' thread you are best advised to book hotels in the Via Toledo/Piazza Municipio area. If you book near the main station around Piazza Garribaldi you will need your wits around you at all times.

Also I am sure you will be bussed to the ground like the scousers from the port just 5 minutes away and returned to the same place after the game. The walk back to Piazza Garribaldi from the port is 25-30 minutes through bandit country

The areas around P. Garribaldi and Piazza Cavour are best avoided. For culture vultures that have been to Pompei visit the National Museum (Museo)at Piazza Cavour but do not.wear scarves or colours. You will be gobsmacked at what you find inside.

Stay safe folks...get google earth and research a bit
