Napoli (A)

I've got a question -- and I'm looking for some advice. I'm a City fan -- and so are my 2 kids (11 and 13) and my wife. We were going to be in Naples on Nov 1 and so I (stupidly?) just bought us 4 tix on the City website.

We're clearly not looking for the typical away fan experience. So my question is: can we go to the game as a family and have a safe experience? Should we take the bus from the port, or just get ourselves to the game on our own (wearing no City shirts) -- no one will even know we're City fans until we get to the stadium entry and we walk to the doors to the away section? Is this whole plan a terrible idea, or is this OK? Advice greatly appreciated.
I would use taxi's. the bus can be er a little busy. they could also be targeted by Napoli fans. I am taking my wife and will find another mode of transport if possible.

I did it at last time with a group of 'chaps' . It is an edgy place to go for football... it's right up there . In your case , going to the game with your wife and young kids , I'd be tempted to make your way to the ground on the metro system and join the escort after the game , i.e.the escort buses back to the port area. Regardless, enjoy....I'm like you out there with my family........See Naples and die .

Just booked the TC day trip to Napoli, I have a ticket as well so hopefully the trip isn't oversubscribed and I can get on the flight. Going to be a very long (but hopefully enjoyable) few days travelling down from Edinburgh to Manchester for the flight, then back to Edinburgh from Manchester on the first train hopefully.

Bill and Crumpsall -- Thanks to both of you for the advice. OK, we'll get to the stadium on our own, and then take the busses back to the ports with the other City fans. Makes sense. This should be a pretty intense game -- looking forward to it!

Hi all
Will be travelling alone on the Thomas cook trip. Any other lone travellers fancy teaming up?
Regards

2 of us flying on Ryanair from Stansted to Naples 6.30am on Wed 01/11 back at 10.40am on Thur 2/11.
Happy to car share to Stansted to save some cash if anyone is interested.
PM me if of interest to anyone, I can fit another 3 in my car.

TC itinerary confirmation email received today. 7am departure and home 1.55am Thursday. Afternoon at the port area as before. Airport parking charging £35 for 21 hours so I've booked a driveway nearby for £4.60 and will get a taxi there n back.
