Cant believe we cant sell this one out, Spurs would have sold there Champions League group matches out 3 times over!

I travel all the way up from London and have to find somewhere to stay overnight, I only earn peanuts but sacrifice going out on the weekends so I can afford to come watch City!

That's because your a supporter rather than a follower, the club genuinely means something to you. I read earlier about some Guy who knows a season ticket holder, lives a few miles away, a good salary etc who just doesn't do cup games?..the mind boggles.I think i read that 1/3 of our season ticket holders didn't buy a ticket for the F.A Cup quarter final against Reading :-(, sometimes i think a sizeable majority of season ticket holders are NOT dyed in the wool City fans but see the league game as a day out, bugger me Champions league football and some people can't be arsed?, aplogises to st holders who aren't going but for genuine reasons such as cost or travel can't make it...thank God we can rely on the 30000 die hards who will be there rain or shine.

The Family Stand tickets don't seem to be moving at all. Everywhere else on first and second level should be sold out in the next few days but Family Stand could be embarrassing if things don't pick up there.
I'm dreading Weds night now. Some seasoncard holders need their heads testing. This is the Champions League.

For what have we been waiting for all these years?

Re: 28k (ish) for Napoli?

Well i seriously hope the club take this into account come away day's at Barcelona, Real Madris etc, and the semi and final for that matter should we do well.
It's not, or should'nt be a done deal that those on lots of points gained from league games and not the seasons cup competitions should get more priority in the " BIG" games than those who are turning up. If we progress out of the group stages it's only fair that those who have made the commitment get first dibs. I bet folk find the dosh when it's Barcelona in the last 8 and Real in the semi though.
If this is'nt a sell out after four decades of sweet FA well i'll be astonished!

And very disappointed.

Up until a few years ago CL football wasn't even on our radar because it was a totally unrealistic target. I still think we'll sell out all areas of the ground apart from the family stand by next Wednesday but it does seem a bit odd how many ST holders (apart from those that can't make it for genuine reasons) appear to be giving this game a miss when you consider how ecstatic everyone was when we beat Spurs back in May to seal that CL spot. And in front of a sell-out crowd.

I don't know what other people think but I prefer European games to games against at least half the teams in the division. The atmosphere in many of the UEFA Cup/Europa League games of recent seasons has been tremendous and the matches themselves have tended to be exciting with the opposition often offering up a different brand of football to what we're used to watching. Playing in the CL will ramp those experiences up to another level. What's not to like about that?

Spurs are one of the biggest teams from a city that has 12million citizens and 18 million in close proximity. I'd expect them to sell out three times over.

We're from a small-ish city and we are nowhere near the size of the other club from it. I don't think we have a particularly big fanbase. We only sell out away games now and again, I reckon it's 50:50 sell-out:none-sell-out. That tells me we don't have a particularly big fan base.

Manchester is not really a small city though is it? Especially when you include Greater Manchester like most people do for example so Salford, Stockport etc. Loads of Blues from Rochdale and Oldham. There is a big area that contributes to a big blue fan base.

Well according to that mine of info wiki we've got a 2 million fan base so you'd think we'd sell 44k for our 1st champs league game.Don't matter to me cos i've got my ticket all i'm worried about.

if you are basing this info on the website seat allocations, you are wasting your time, you cant buy tickets online for the family stand...in person or over the phone only, so you cant get any idea of take-up fro the website. I am in Family Stand Lower Tier,i'm going with my 8 year old(despite it being a school night I just cant let him miss this piece of club history) I would say the majority of the family stand will be full by wednesday night

It wont happen that way because the club have made it very clear that unless you are in the cup direct schemes then you will NOT have a right to a ticket for away games or finals. Cup Direct members will get priority.

You could be number one in the points list but miss out on the CL final because you are not in the scheme.

Clearly if they dont go to the group stages then they will not be in the scheme.

On the rest of your post I agree.

There were thousands clambering for FA Cup final tickets last year. Funny how money is found for that yet people cant find £25 for games like this.

City make it difficult to buy but even so if 90% of ST holders (who City dont make it hard for) bought then thats 32000 sold and 3000 away fans leaving just 10,000 tickets to sell.

Its possible to buy an adult ticket and take 3 kids for £40. That is value for a night like this.

I agree that in general football is too expensive but surely our first Champions League game should be full to bursting and bouncing. If its not I will share your disappointment.

Re: 28k (ish) for Napoli?

it must be but i'm looking forward to this game more than the fa cup final! how long have we waited for this? if the hamburg game was a taster then this is a chance to show what city fans are all about! 450 mile round trip worth every minute!
