Passports and visas
you don't need a visa to travel to Italy but your passport should be valid for the duration of your stay
remember your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) but also take out travel insurance, even if you're only going for one night - it could save you a lot of money in you get into difficulties
it is necessary to carry an ID document at all times and you will need to show your passport as well as your ticket to enter the stadium
anyone who loses their passport will need to come to the British Consulate to get an emergency travel document for which they will need a photo and police report. The cost is €113
Getting to the stadium
From Naples Capodichino Airporta dedicated shuttle service will be provided to take supporters to the port area or directly to the stadium. Police advise supporters to use this instead of public transport
public transport. Get to Naples central railway station from the airport via Alibus to Stazione Centrale
From Naples Central Railway Station/Piazza Garibaldi
a dedicated shuttle service will be provided to take supporters to the port area or directly to the stadium from 16:30. Police advise supporters to use this instead of public transport
public transport. Take the Underground (FS Metropolitana) line 2 toward Pozzuoli and get off at the Campi Flegri stop. The stadium is a short walk from there. Tickets for all public transport must be purchased before the journey and then stamped in the appropriate machine or they are not valid. You can buy them at the station and most newsagents also sell them
police will be on hand around the city to offer assistance if and when required
At the match
City fans should enter the stadium through gate 33
there will be ticket checks and body searches outside the turnstiles. Gates will open 3 hours before kick off
visiting supporters will be kept behind for up to an hour after the match to allow the home fans to disperse. When supporters leave the stadium they will be escorted to their buses and taken back to the airport and the train station
Tips
the area around the train station and those of Forcella and The Old Centre (centro storico), both of which lead away from the train station, should be avoided where possible during the evening as there were several attacks on supporters during Liverpool’s visit last year and also at Bayern Munich’s game this year. Police advise supporters not to travel around the city alone
the Italian government have a zero tolerance policy regarding acts of hooliganism both inside and outside stadiums
the British Consulate in Naples is open to the public from 09.30 to 12.30 and from 14.00 to 16.00. Should anyone have problems outside of working hours they should call the following number: 0039 0642202354
