A draw away to Napoli would be a great result imo, hopefully Feyenoord get something from Shakhtar which seems unlikely.

I'd be tempted to go with the 3 at the back we tried in preseason and the first few games. Napoli were finding passing channels in the second half of the first game so a few more deeper bodies and greater emphasis on countering quickly might be worthwhile. We could use the same personnel as the usual formation to allow easy switching...

Ederson

Otamendi - Stones - Delph

Walker - - - - - - - - Fernandinho - - - - - - - - Sane

De Bruyne - Silva

Aguero - Jesus

Wouldn't want Sane in any position where he's expected to help out with defensive duties.

The score flattered them.
Goal 1: Sassuolo defender has a brain freeze at the back in front of his box, Allan takes it off his foot and scores
Goal 2: Corner, comes off the Sassuolo GK own goal

Goal 3: short corner Sassuolo defender tries to head it away it goes horribly wrong ends up heading it to Maggio who heads it down to Mertens for an easy score.

Game really should've ended in a draw Reina made some wonder saves that could've had the game end a different way but Sassuolo were really unlucky today.
They played a really strong team and only rested Hsayj and Koulibaly. Allan and Jorginho both played 90 minutes. Reading Napoli fan commentary they would rather see Allan and Jorginho who gave us fits than Zieliński next to Hamsik.

We also talk about rotating and resting players but all of Napoli's front 3 have played every league game and every champions league game(including playoff against Nice) and they don't have much quality in those positions on the bench. It's part of the reason why I don't think they will go on and win Serie A. Sarri has some major decisions on his hands bc they have games against MIlan and Juve before and after their champions league games.

Ok, if you look at it like that:
Our game V West Brom...

Our Goals
Goal 1 - G.Jesus dummy didn't come off as the defender read it, luckily it fell for Fernandinho who passed it to Sane.
Goal 2 - Fernandinho's shot was going wide. Luckily it deflected just inside the post.
Goal 3 - Amazing.

WBA
Goal 1 - Fine.
Goal 2 - Otamendi!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So really it was 1-1??? ha!

Three teams can still finish with the same amount of points. So I want us to play our best 11 for this game.
Napoli really need to get a result on Wednesday. If the scoreline isn't going for them it'll harm their game. That is when I expect them to be vulnerable. No problem giving them the initiative more than we normally do.
It'll be tough and it should be. But I'm confident we get what we want.

It's a game we can afford to lose in terms of getting out of and winning the group, particularly with a big game on Sunday that's more important and we need to be fresh for that especially when Arsenal will play their kids midweek and essentially have a rest, but the momentum we could gain from winning this could be huge. Would snap our hand off for a draw and no injuries.
