Im going and cant wait.
Local mayor apparently whipped the liverpool game up beforehand telling the Napoli people to be careful as 'liverpool hooligans' were coming. Liverpool dont have a good rep in Italy.
Not sure about the stabbings of munich fans? Agree that doesnt bode well.
However, will congregate at port if thats the advise and get buses in. As the liverpool fan points out, those that followed the local advise and met at the port were fine.

I'm going, Monday to Wednesday from stanstead. Should be great, I don't know why everyone is so worried, I believe the facts are 2 out of 3000 people get a mild flesh wound. Although not nice the odds are in my favour of avoiding the trouble!

I think the fact that it will probably be a crunch game & will be edgy is what makes it exciting for me.

Just came back from holiday down there, mostly in sorrento but also did a couple days in Naples. Wore my City hoodie everywhere, and other than some friendly banter from Napoli fans here and there, no one even looked twice or gave us any problems whatsoever. Ridiculous amount of graffiti to be sure. But we never felt unsafe.
 
Thos Cook are operating a day trip. Presumably that should be reasonably safe?
 
To get you in the mood ..my visit to San Paolo a couple of years back. Those that are going are in for a treat, in spite of the running track San Paolo leaves all other stadia in Italy behind when it comes to atmosphere.
This is old school stuff and you'll love it.....come back and tell showsec how stewards should behave towards fans... they just want to see you have fun.... flares, smoke bombs, flags, banners b*llocking the players for partying too much, b*llocks to your seat number (STAND with your mates)....do you realise we now have a generation of youngsters that have never had the freedom to stand at football????

I think the best way to describe Naples is like Everton or Liverpool away in the 70s and 80s, City fans who went to those games will understand.
