Napoli post-match thread

Like has been said, first 30 minutes was immense, but we were obviously playing on the limit, it was unlikely to be sustainable.

I reckon that'll be in the top 5 hardest games we have this season, they are streets ahead of anyone we've played domestically, going back to the league will seem a cake walk with the amount of time we'll have on the ball.
Great point at the end there - coming up against teams like this will hone us even further.

I thought Walker, Fernandinho had bad games and Sané had a bad first half, which unfortunately coincided with the period when we should have put the game away and a few times he made poor decisions in attack, but kept going and looked much better in the second half.

I also think that's the toughest team we'll play until February, so if we can still beat them with some players having off-days' then you can't complain.

Ederson, Stones & Otamendi were absolutely fantastic in every aspect of the game.

Fernandinho looked exhausted, and again, while no one in England are going to work us as hard as Napoli, he needs to be kept fit.
You asked how would Napoli feel themselves without the ball mate. Was you question answered? :)
Sarri is probably the best positional play coach right now. Watched all their games this season and today's match has only confirmed my impression. I mean, I knew that someone will eventually appear and surpass Guardiola, but never thought that it's going to be a 58 yo former banker with less than 10 years of pro coaching experience...
They've made us look ordinary for most part of the game, and done it with a squad that is probably slightly worse than Arsenal's....Have no words. It's like another generation of Pepcelona football.

Sane was really off his game today. Should have come off at half time.
We HAVE to be more ruthless near goal to stop this nail biting finish to a game. We should have had 4 or 5 before end of first half but squandered excellent chances.
A good win though against a team that’s very dangerous. I think they had their mind on the weekend game, rather than this.
We will certainly not get those chances in Naples.

Very good win. A point over there and that will be us qualified. After our two goals our levels dropped quite a bit, we looked knackered in the second half so I'm hoping pep rests quite a few on the weekend.

It will be tough in Naples, but even when they were on top we were creating plenty of clear chances to score, just weren't as clinical today as we have been of late. All in all can't really complain... p.s Ederson is amazing.

I really enjoy this playing from the back and contrary to many here I think it worked quite well. I just do not understand why are people so nervous about it, it served the purpose and we'll be getting even better. And for me, Dinho had a very good game.
