Napoli post-match thread

great win and man management from pep and city can now just cost if they want in the champions league 1 point is enough to take us to the knockouts with 3 games to play yes we looked 2nd to the ball in the 2nd half and they are a good team but we just seamed to take a look at them tonight and think ok we know your main points and we are a better team then you

its the first time in europe we have control the game vs a good team and we knew we could go up 2 or 3 gears if need be but we just let them play right in front of us and stones was man of the match and just control the game from there and we could have really folded when they pressured us but did not control is the key word here and pep put the magic back in the box for bigger games and i seen it with the 2 goals we just hit the ball long and wide and the pace of the wingers just opened them up and KDB just took the ball free from anybody just outside the box its a magic bit of football

Careful. 1 point against Napoli is enough to take us through. Get beat in Naples and that changes.

Ref was trying his best to get them back into the game from 30 minutes into the first half. Penalties were legit but a lot of other shitty decisions from him.

Silva goes to challenge a 50-50, their player goes down holding his head, foul
Silva goes to challenge a 50-50, Silva goes down with an actual injury, no foul.

I also learned that a nudge on the hip means you go down as if someone punched you in the nose.

Shades of last season and hanging on, but my word was that first 30 minutes sublime and but for a couple of inches we could have been 3/4 up. Their tactics in the second half were much better, Edderson was immense, Sane was off form today, running into trouble but not the only one as after he kept doing it people stopped passing to him.

Job done, 9/9 and we should be through the groups with a draw.

Shame Feyenoord couldn't beat Shaktar as that would have made for a great 3-way for 2nd place. Going to be tough to beet Napoli at theirs but I think we'll manage it, 3-2 at theirs.

A big positive is that playing a team like Napoli will give the coaching team a greater insight in how the players can improve. Much like with the academy of previous years you don't learn much if you're constantly winning most of your games comfortably.

I don’t usually say this as everyone is entitled to their opinion but...

Anyone saying Delph had a bad game needs to seek either optomological or psychological help. Possibly both.

Showed a lot of character at 3-2 on Saturday and at 2-1 tonight.

I think we are proving that we are more than just a pretty team to watch.
