Nasri and Silva

they are our silva and nasri

we all know silva's wizardry is second to none but i have been well impressed with nasri's ball retention skills this season

watching toure, silva and nasri pass around opposition's has been a joy, long may it continue!

Struggling to see what Nasri brings to the team.......

.......other than his movement, composure, passing ability, and skill. Give him the ball under pressure with 2 men marking him and he normally just walks away from them. He can pass it sideways and backwards. Wish he'd shoot more from outside the box as he'd score more goals like his Roma one if he did.

Silva is just freaking awesome. Love it when he receives the ball with his back to goal then does his turn and sprint. He's always the player I look forward to seeing playing even more than Aguero.

Not seen enough of Xavi and Iniesta to see how the comparison works but there ability to keep the ball under pressure from defenders and do something positive with the ball is excellent. Their movement without the ball is also very good.

So much of the way City play is based on the interaction between Silva, Nasri and Yaya.

I know that the style is not everyone's cup of tea, but I find the intricacy of their ball play to be both mesmerising and exciting to watch. It's like watching chess grandmasters. You admire the highest degree of skill and art that defines their work.

I don't know whether they are our Xavi and Iniesta, but they are most certainly our Nasri and Silva and I for one hope they continue to wreak havoc on opposition teams for many years to come.

I think the chess comment is a really apt analogy. Just like pieces that have to be manipulated around a board until they are eventually attacking in harmony, those three patiently work the ball around and probe for openings and weaknesses. Sometimes it can take 60 minutes or more of football to wear down a highly organized park-the-bus side that stays committed, and sometimes that team scores on the counter as we press high to support this intricate attack. Nevertheless, this is the heart and soul of our creative attack, and it's no coincidence we tend to struggle for goals when any two of these players are out of the line-up.

Xavi and Iniesta are pure class.

No coincidence that Yayas improvement in form was when Nasri came back in the team as well.

Well his pass completion stats certainly goes up with the 200 passes they do between themselves, mainly over 2 yards.

Silva and Nasri our Xavi and Iniesta? Yeah, if not better. Nasri is quality, always liked him, and think Silva is better than Iniesta in all honesty. He'd have got the sh*t kicked out of him in England and rolled around all afternoon. Either that or just ran up the line, cut back and squared it to someone else for 90 minutes.

Calm down now.

Maybe not in their prime, but Silva has been better than Iniesta for ages, and Nasri is arguably more useful than the current Xavi (In his defence, he is now 34 going on 35). I'd definitely take Yaya over Xavi right now too.

Silva's invention and passing is second to none in the world.

Nasri is the best dribbler I have seen since Kinkladze. Different, because he doesn't go past players like Kinkladze did, but when Nasri has possession it is like the ball is glued to his feet.

Both players are an absolute joy to watch and the triangles between Nasri, Silva & Yaya are just awesome.

Nasri is definitely the best dribbler in the team. Makes me wish he'd run at players more as his footwork is incredible - when he wants to keep the ball he just does.

Love both of em. Genuinely brilliant players who are learning to compliment each other perfectly. I can't help but grin when I watch Yaya, Silva and Nasri turn it on - the little triangles and touches are mesmerising.
