TBH, if we are not in for Sneijder and Nasri is not going to join our club the logical player to go for who could do both roles as winger and or play maker would be Mata. If we are prepared to splash anything between 22m (on Nasri) or 35m on Sneijder doesn't seem difficult to put in 25m -30m for Mata.

If Tevez then leaves and we need a striker then Eto o or Lavezzi would suit me to the ground. Suspect the Cerci deal is on hold until the above resolved and also whether we could offload Ade to Spurs and get Lennon. So many permatations of players no wonder these deals are taking forever.

So is Mata the only remaining option in regards to the vacant playmaker role?

But are we confusing ourselves rammy?? Giving ourselves too many options?

I agree. Hope we move straight onto Cerci now instead.
is he any better than what we already have? ive seen nothing of him.

I do not know, it was just abit of sarcasm as Alera seems to be very against the prospect of us signing Cerci.

Mancini said a week or 2 ago that he wants the deals done before community shield. Well..it looks like it could take longer with 2 major signings left.

So i would expect there to be some movement in the very near future.

I am always confused, must be an age thing, :-) I don't think the club are confused, I believe they will have a very simple, logical strategy for getting the players Mancini wants, whether my ramblings get anywhere near their list is probably unlikely. IMO, not a great fan of Lennon, know nothing about Cerci other than the Youtube clips but are they any better than SWP and AJ? Playmakers everyone seems to think Mata is ideal, Pastore seems to have gone to PSG, Sneijder is world class and Nasri well the boss mentioned him. He has also mentioned Lavezzi so just by looking at the above names and the fact that Ade is to leave it just seems there are all sorts of permatations and I know fuck all about how the final squad will look.

I just want us to hurry the fuck up then the squad will be completely settled and ready to role like a solid ass unit before the season starts!

agree, I'm quite surprised there has been almost no movement that the media knows about, reports by the sun doesn't count, maybe we will know more by the end of the week

very surprised how quiet weve been this summer apart from aguero,it looks like weve stepped back from the process of throwing anything at any player!

a transfer like Nasri, going from one top English club to another, was always going to be a long episode.

Cerci is dragging out because Fiorentina are holding out for a sum that is unreasonable for such an unproven player.

It's unrealistic for all targets to be in before August, it's just the nature of the business. There are too many factors, too many personnel involved, and a whole lot of money changing hands, and in a lot of cases, internationally.

I think one reason it has been a more 'quiet' summer is because for the most part we've fixed the leaks inside our club; all of the information regarding our targets or players on our team moving on come from the other club or the player's representatives.

From an office and management standpoint, I'd have to say that our business is done in a fantastically professional manner.

Ignoring a goalie that we need,we will be only looking to bring in another two players maximum,so I hardly think that will be too disruptive.
Over the previous two seasons we`ve brought in what each time,4 & 5 ??
No we`ll be fine.Good players don`t take long to adjust.
