While I'm not having a go at Nasri et al, footballers aren't renowned for their superior brainpower and Piers Moron (as Private Eye routinely call him) picks his targets carefully and has got a relatively easy one here. Madonna recently put him in his place, but he'd certainly never have a go at any kind of intellectual heavyweight as he'd have his pants pulled down.

Having said that players are free to say what they think and feel, but if the best Piers Moron can offer is to gloat about a 1-0 home win and/or have a pop at them as professionals after a bad day at the office then it tells you all you need to know about him.

He strikes me as the kind of bloke who'd start a bar room brawl, hide on the sidelines while it all kicked off and then, after it was all over, kick someone while they were down to prove what a "man" he was.

He appalls me, and he has come unstuck many times and seemingly got away with it, but his luck will run out eventually. As one Japanese proverb goes: "If you sit by a river long enough, you'll see the body of your enemy float by."
