Its nuts. How many fantastic English playmakers with great vision and technique can you name in the premier league era? How many French?
Never thought of it that way but your smack on. Just look at kelvin etuhu for example, through all the youth teams for us he was unstoppable with an amazing scoring record etc so I was expecting massive things from reading about him. Turns out all he knows is to get the ball and run in a straight line with it and that will get you nowhere at professional level but at youth levels pace and power gets you everywhere.
