Nat Lofthouse RIP

i don't think you will see many footballers these days as loyal as nat was!

R.I.P true legend to the game.

R.I.P. Absolute hero of a man. A Lot of my mates are Bolton fans and adored the man but their parents and many older Bolton fans I know speak of Nat as such a hero and great footballer.

I hope teams give him the minutes silence/applause that he deserves in the next round of fixtures.

RIP - Nat Lofthouse - Real Legend of the game. He actually worked in the mines (called Bevin Boys) and played for Bolton on the same day...

"Bevin Boy Lofthouse's Saturdays went like this: up at 3.30 a.m., catching the 4.30 tram to work; eight hours down the pit pushing tubs; collected by the team coach; playing for Bolton. But work down the mine toughened him physically and the caustic humour of his fellow miners made sure he never became arrogant about his success on the field."

Respect.

I remember a friendly at Bolton where the City fans sang his name. Considering almost all were too young to remember him play, this was a mark of what a legend he was. Rest in Peace Nat, you were one of the true greats.
