He had a great first hour last week against Chelsea and was bloody rubbish in the last half hour.

Last night he had a bloody rubbish first hour and was great for the last half hour. Once we went 3-4 up, he settled down and was involved a lot in our good passing.

He's decent enough to be a backup but the 2 times he's played with Garcia.. its evident he's playing with someone who doesn't want to play for City. Good Riddance to Garcia.. bring in someone who will bleed blue alongside him.. like THB or someone else.

The odd thing about that performance was how often he was caught the wrong side of the ball. He was getting into really advanced positions and trying to run in behind Newcastle's backline on occasion, which is uncharacteristic of both how our central defenders usually play and how Aké himself usually plays. I find it hard to believe that he made that decision unilaterally.

Is there a team on the planet that has better 4th choice CB than Ake ?

Is there a team on the planet that has more expensive 4th choice CB than City ?

FFS... Talk about Ake. Garcia has nothing to do with this :(

For the record, Ake is a fantastic backup. Not at the level of the other 3 CBs but an athletic, energetic and fiesty fighter. Needs a little more composure defensively at times and a lot more confidence in his ball handling and he'd be where we need him to be...
