Did himself no favors tonight.

At fault for the first, went to ground for the second (even though it wasn’t a penalty), and looked a step slow against the counter attack.

Playing our slowest two CBs against a fast counter attacking team almost cost us. Thankfully, it didn’t…this time.

Yes, he was poor last night. he was exposed by the lack of pace, so so slow. Also was beaten in the air.
some say he is a LB….for me he doesn’t have the speed.
TBF our high line may not suit him and I agree playing along Garcia does not help, but since he returned from injury, I have seen nothing to convince me he is going to be anything other than 4th choice.
Maybe we could use him as part of a transfer deal this summer ?

I am not worried by Ake despite last night. He is a great squad player to have. He was playing in front of a goalkeeper stuck to his line, a marauding left back, inexperienced partner and Walker fucking about. Exposed is an understatement.

Ake is fine as a 4th choice cb, but no more. At City he will never be 1st choice, but due to the sheer number of matches we play he will always get game time, whether he will be satisfied with that is another matter.
