Have any of your local chippies made it into this ?

They has been two from around here over the years. In each case both chippies in my eyes werent good ! I had fish n chips from here and never went back.

Closest to me for this year's nominations is in Prestwich, a good 40min journey, but one near us made it a few years back and had it plastered all over the windows for a while.

They were good, even the service, but costly even then so I shudder to think what fish and chips from.there is now, I'd bet nearly a tenner. There again I don't go to the chippy nowadays so you could tell me twenty quid is normal for fish and chips nowadays and I'd have no clue.

I doubt the criteria takes into acount that southern chippies are wank, gravyless fuckers ;-)

Best chippies are Chinese just for their curry sauce, but I bet every year some local chippy that has seats and they wear a trilby and labcoat wins it for it's ambience

I did put something like that in the comment section ( if you click the link ! ). But didnt word it as well as you lol

It’s their stubbornness not to have it that gets me, it makes good business sense, yet many seem to have that “we’re not going to pander to you “fackin Novern Mankees” attitude.

Anyway, would rather have a kebab if I was going to spend £10 on a “take away”.

The curry sauce they mostly use is mayflower and you can buy it at b and m in powder.
