Actually had chips from two of these chippies

Angel Lane Penrith and Moores fish and chip shop Castle Douglas

Both are nice enough.

I agree. Eaten there twice. Best Fish and chips in Scotland I've had. I've had slightly better from several Yorkshire chippy's though; )
Did a 2 hr bus trip from Dundee to Anstruther Fish Bar recommended by everyone (OK, I stopped at a dozen pubs on the route); found the fish batter tough though chips great. Sounds like I should have done the Waterfront instead.

My local chippy wins loads of local awards. I'm surprised they haven't been featured nationwide yet.

And it's not harry ramsdens!

Two Greater Manchester fish & chip shops have made the short list of 40 for the 2024 National Awards, the Eastleigh in Marple Bridge and Chips @ No.8 in Prestwich.

I've been to the Marple Bridge shop plenty of times and they're very good despite the owner being a dyed in the wool rag.

Chips @ No.8 in Prestwich is good, but expensive. Or it was a few years ago.

My local chippy only opens two days a week due to cost of fuel.
Almost no chippies do home delivery. Why not?

We have 3 in our area that deliver but they are all crap, can't seem to find a chippy with any consistency these days.
