Freshens things up a bit. International football is dead on its arse.

More money spinners for uefa, fuck all use to the smaller nations.
Yes it is as they can qualify for the European championship if they win their division.

Not a fan of international football but anything is an improvement on friendlies.

Good idea. The current format regarding internationals is a bit tired, and this is a positive change that makes things more interesting.

•Two blocks of international football, one in November and December, the other in June and July, are proposed, encompassing every tournament and qualification campaign, plus friendly fixtures, across all confederations
•What is being discussed will affect the way you watch football, your income, your holidays, your engagement in other sports
•Michel Platini has got the European Clubs' Association on board, meaning some of the most powerful figures in the game are around this table. Now the mood exists to drive change
•It would be the end of watching England for some, the end of trips, reunions and simple days out that were among the highlights of the year
•Far from being an unwelcome distraction, there is growing evidence that a cup run enhances the hopes of a struggling team
•We're delusional. The days when English football could march in and poach Europe's best players are gone

Correction: if they win their division and then win a playoff against winners of the other divisions. To put it another way - they still have no hope.
