Was contemplating having it on on my phone in the background then I saw the lineup and immediately decided against it. A simply dreadfully put together side in a formation that doesn’t benefit anybody other than having wingbacks that can get up and down.

I’m not a Southgate hater, I think he’s done beyond what could be expected of him but that’s because he’s never in a million years a top coach so the expectation levels are low. It’s not his fault he’s been given a job he isn’t upto.

Granted he’s not got the pace of sterling and Rashford upfront but fuck me if that lineup doesn’t scream “I don’t know what I’m doing” then nothing does. Even Martinez would be looking at that thinking this guy hasn’t a clue.

For me England need to play 4-3-3, pace on the flanks and one of the creative players centrally backed up by two cloggers in midfield to protect the woeful defence
