Nations League

england started well with Sterling and Foden looking very lively in the opening spell. Since the goal was disallowed we seem to have reverted to a more negative style.

If Southgate had any ambition (or clue) we would be absolutely battering this bunch.

He needs to change this setup, our back line is directing the game too much and first Sterling and now even Sancho are to deep when receiving the ball and just forcing the game on the flanks is not working. U21 are playing almost identically. This is not what paying from the back is, they are just not using the middle of the pitch at all.

Absolutely, spot on. At some point, they were shouting for Phil to go forward instead of drop deep. You can’t expect Rice and the lot at the back to dictate the tempo.

Am I the only one who think this is a bit boring?
Or I am spoilt by watching City play every week?

Some half time debate for you.

If you had to, would you rather?
a) Have Tyler commentate on every game you watched for the rest of your life.
b) Have Mcmanaman commentate on every game you watched for the rest of your life.
