City boys we are here,sh*g your women and drink yo
Heroes,every fucking one of them.
Just watched the programme on ITV presented by Ben Fogle.
They were the garrison on the Falklands when Argentina invaded and although they put up fierce resistance to the invaders, they were eventually ORDERED to surrender by Rex Hunt to prevent a bloodbath.
And after being sent back to the UK by Argentina, they all to a man volunteered to return to the Falklands with The Task Force.
And after fighting their way across the island and helping to retake the capital Stanley, it was
Naval Party 8901 that were photographed raising The Union Flag above the residence of Rex Hunt.
They are all older guys now,but as I said every single one of them is a genuine bona fide hero.

Agree with this but should point out that they never surrendered. They cease-fired. Same difference to you and I but a point of order to those very brave men I’m sure.

I went in Moody brook barracks ( the marines barracks) right at the end of they war, the Argies though it was still occupied when they invaded, absolutely ruined the place but not a sole was there thankfully

I just watched that - heroism above and beyond. Could we do this again kept going through my mind I have to say

They mentioned that in the TV programme.
Fortunately the Royal Marines got intelligence about the attack on their barracks and swiftly got away from there.

Read the book, The first casualty.
It covers the action in more detail. The documentary was good, but fell short of the book in depth of info on the contacts.
