NBA

I went to watch Boston Celtics v New York Knicks last night and enjoyed the basketball but the cheese that went with it all in the crowd was pretty embarrassing to be a part of - most people don't even watch the game until the very last five minutes mainly becuase they're shoving hot dogs into their gob.

I'll go ahead and agree that the LA Clippers are most like City. Seem to be struggling a bit this season with a new coach and new system like we were early on. I think they will sort it out over time as they have loads of talent. Chris Paul is their David Silva and the key to their success, Blake Griffin = Negredo.

Their coach is highly rated having won a championship in recent history and comes highly recommended so there's a bit of a similarity between their coach Doc Rivers and our manager.

LA Lakers = Rags. So that is that.
Celtics= Arsenal
Spurs= Liverpool
Miami Heat= Chelsea

Boston Celtics will be Newcstle - one team town, passionate fans, shit team......

-- Sat Dec 14, 2013 7:08 pm --

Same as baseball / (US) football and ice hockey......... ;)

Detroit, working class City from the North West.
Maybe Toronto as basketball was invented by a Canadian. Plus they're shit.
I would go for the one with the most white guys personally. Always back the underdog.

Any Americans on the night shift following this DeAndre Jordan saga? Absolutely hilarious. Puts any free-agency shit-shows we've seen to shame.

Following on from the 'most like City' discussion above, I'd say the Mavericks put up a good case for this. They are the team I started to follow years ago, mainly because of Dirk Nowitzki (visited his hometown in Germany when he was an up and coming youngster in the NBA).

The DeAndre Jordan saga is a bit of a 'typical City' moment and they've had plenty of others down the years. They posted the sixth best regular season record in NBA history in 06/07 before losing in the first round of the play-offs. They then actually managed to win the title a few years later despite being massive underdogs against the Miami Heat team which had LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. They've also got a completely batshit mental owner which makes for pretty good entertainment. Never a dull moment in Dallas.

Not a Basketball fan and have no real idea about any of the NBA teams but have to say I love `March Madness' which is the college teams build up to their championship. Fast and furious knock out competition without all the BS
