I thought he bossed the midfield tonight against us. His performance showed that we have a world class midfielder in the making there. Sat in front of their back four and soaked up a good amount of England's pressure and passed the ball about brilliantly. I'd say only Essien and Yaya Toure could do a better job than him in the same role in world football. The fella is gonna be huge for us this season and instrumental in our hopefully successful future.

He played very well tonight, i can only remember 2 occasions where he gave the ball away during the whole match and some of the tackles he made were excellent. He's going to be a top player for us and for Holland and i can't see why so many people don't think he's that good but we're all entitled to our opinions

People who don't rate him either know nothing about the game or most probably don't see what job he does for the team. He plays that roll that Hamann used to do so well in his prime which goes unnoticed unless you are actually at the game and see the pitch in front of you. He's strong in the tackle, mops up the attacks and spreads passes about the midfield, the perfect bullish holding player.

Outstanding tonight. Love the guy.

He's said himself that playing the game the way he does he doesn't tend to get noticed unless he fucks up and he's dead right. He plays a very important role but as it lacks the glamour of the goal scorers or last gasp defensive moves he can be overlooked but I love the guy already and I'm excited about seeing him fully fit and adjusted to the prem this season.

I just hope I rarely notice him as that means he's doing his job :)

What I did notice about him today was that his passing was more adventurous than usual. I wonder if either MH has told him to focus on defending or if the Holland coach has just said try and get the engine room working a bit more.

Got to admit fellow blues, I'm having trouble deciding who this season's 'man crush' should be, but Nige is right up there....(oo-er missus...)

;)

Has to be Robinho.

Cheeky smile. Lots of goals. I watch him on you tube randomly when I'm bored and just grin, not been able to do that since Gio!
