Ndombele (signed for Spurs)

Their record transfer is now higher than ours then.

Curse us for spending sooooooo much.

That will be me i am afraid, it started with Lyon do not need to sell, then it went to Ndombele is happy at the club, but then the Lyon president said he would rather sell to PSG than City, yeah i have had my nose put out.
A good player decent price lets see how he adapts
Don't believe Aulas. If he had the choice to sell between City and PSG, he would prefer City. He just wants to drive the price up when he sweet talks about a PSG interest. The last time he sold us a player was 10 years ago, before the Qatari takeover.

60m + 10m max in incentives

So around £63m total, for a player valued at £70m+ with strong interest from bigger clubs?

It's a great deal from Spurs point of view but how do they get away with lowball offers like this? If we consistently got prices like that, we'd be accused of hiding payments or something daft.

Come to think of it, I do know why City getting good prices like this, is a rarity. One the one hand we have been made out to be the bad guys of football, so very few clubs want to be seen as doing us favours. On the other we have a reputation for throwing money around, which isn't quite accurate when it comes to paying over the odds for players. We very rarely do these days.

As frustrating as it can be seeing these deals lag or fall through. When I see deals like this happening elsewhere, I'm glad we do stand firm these days. Already clubs are realising it's not worth fannying us around anymore. We set a fair maximum(often generous) and they either take it or we move on. Anyone still complaining when we don't pay whatever it takes on deals, just so they can stop flapping about the transfers, hasn't seen the bigger picture.

Wonder why other clubs weren't in for him?
There's not many that can afford that kind of fee outside England and Spurs probably got ahead of the game.

Good luck to them with this signing. It will be one step forward and one step backwards if they sell Eriksen. I really hope that this does not pave the way for Eriksen to go you know where. He wouldn't do that would he? Pointless. Spurs are a better club.

Based on how he played against us, a good signing. I like the fact that he dragged himself through the leagues after being let go from a big team when he was young. Not sure I am right but those kind of players are often hungry and have a great attitude to learning.

You can never tell how players will adapt in England, especially midfielders. However, his chances must be high as Pochetinno is a good coach.

Still confident this is being funded by a sale though regardless of what was said on a previous page.

Do find it odd that no other club seemingly made clear their interest as a number of big clubs have apparently been looking for midfielders - ourselves, United, PSG, Real, Athleti etc.. He's supposedly a bit picky about the games he performs in but he's only young. Young players are often inconsistent.
