Ndombele (signed for Spurs)

Couldn't have really done much more to convince the club he is the lad to go for. His "Bernando" game infront of Pep. A chance of getting him in Jan for a premium, it won't be like most big transfers whereby the club wont sell as they are going for league titles. Be cup tied for CL but he can always play in PL and rest Fernandinho.

Ndombele/De Jong/Verratti or Neves please.

Tonight shows us if Fern is having a bad day at the office there really is no-one who can compete for his position in the current squad.

If he weren't already on my mind from having read about him on this thread, I don't think he would of especially stood out to me last night.

For those who've seen him play before last night, would he suit our team/style?
Watched a couple Lyon games last season, and he's like a carbon copy of Fernandinho at Shakhtar. A little more offensive than Dinho is today, but could easily be a very good DM. He's got loads of pace and physicality, he's one hell of a dribbler and he also defends well and showed his great passing ability yesterday. Would be my first choice signing, I even prefer him over De Jong

I think that's been scrapped from this season

The reason fern isn't top top drawer is he's not amazing when pressed. I haven't seen much of this guy, he looks a strong runner but I can't imagine he'd be as good against the press as a Jorginho type player. I think that's the type Pep will want so Neves would be more likely for me.

They need to have the aggression, pace and physicality to recover when we're against the counter. The first and foremost job of a DM is to break up their attacks and give it back to our attacking players. You can beat the press as much as you like, but their defenders inevitably will hoof the ball up on the break and we suffer.
