Ndombele (signed for Spurs)

Just for guage, Kepa cost 90 million. Allison cost 83 million. Just saying 70 million for a player with potential to be better than Fernandihno isn't all that bad.

True. Prices are mental. I guess as it's a role we need filling and he's a player with a high ceiling, it would make sense.

Ndombele called up to the senior France squad for the first time earlier this week. Doubt he'd be thrown in against Germany but could get his first senior cap in the friendly against Iceland.

Fucking pay it on day 1 of the window. No bullshit Txiki! Don’t fuck this one up haggling over million or two. I think this signing is one of the few where you have to take a small loss on the ‘business’ side of it.

This is being reported again in the Star, linked by Twitter.

Have a feeling this will happen.

He`s 21 and IMO the best young DM in Europe. Very quick and athletic, strong, fantastic dribbler and a very good passer. At 21 he could be our DM for the next 10 seasons. A carbon copy of Fernandinho who has the potential to become even better than him. In this market I don`t think 70m is that bad. Don`t forget that 27yo Danny Drinkwater cost 38m, Fred for 53m, 17yo Vincius Jr for 41m and Arrizabalaga for 72m.

I hope you're right. The only thing I'm worried about is that Txiki has been taking hard stances the last few windows and I'm afraid he's fine with landing any of his targets for the right value which would probably end up being rabiot.

Couldn't agree more. Obviously I'd take Frenkie but I think under Pep Tanguy has the much higher ceiling for the reasons you mentioned. This is the only position that needs reinforcement and we won't have to spend big for a few windows now so hopefully Txiki pays it.

Agreed!!!! We desperately need a top class long term DM

I like Frenkie too, but I would prefer someone like Ndombele who can defend and is more physical. Ndombele also plays at a higher level

I don't see a loss at 70 million. I see fair price. And remember, im the anti-overpaying guy. But 70 million for Ndombele is fair market value. It will go up though if we dont jump.

I think it’s fair price but I coukd also see Txiki having issues breaking our transfer record for him by 10m.

With the structuring of deals today, if Pep really wants him, I can see a structure that might get the eventual number to £70M, but it’s a piss take, really, isn’t it?

21 yrs old, one good season under his belt, and Lyon looking for a £62M profit in under a year?

It appears the Premier League TV deal is needed to fund the entire European soccer industry!

The days of buying a squad are well and truly over, imagine if a team like Everton wanted to do what we did a few years ago. To buy, as we did in two seasons the likes of Toure, Silva, Aguero, Dzeko, Balotelli, Nasri, Boateng, Milner amongst others would cost around half a billion quid at todays rates, its just not sustainable, something had to give in this crazy market.

Plus like Laporte he’d have time to settle in. I wonder if City see January as a time of opportunity with many clubs not having money or not willing to buy so in effect getting a free run at a player?

Wouldn’t that make him the most expensive player ever in his respective position?

Maybe I’m underestimating Ndombele but £70m seems like a lot even in today’s crazy market.

Do poeple even care anymore?! The rags under Mourinho have spent 400m for a shit team and the media still go on about not backing the manager this summer even though he spent 80m so 80m is nowt to the media and Mourinho.
