Pep says maybe we’ll buy one player. So that means De Jong is first choice and Ndombele is a back up.

How about this. We buy ndombele this window, let Zinchenko go . Then in summer we buy DeJong and loan him out for a season to Girona. So next season we us Ndombele and Fern, 20/21 season Ndombele and De Jong

True but I don’t see it happening. Ideally Gundogan out, and De Jong+Ndombele in but personally think it’s unlikely.

We wanted Jorginho in the summer. Which means Pep wants another midfielder without selling anyone. That means that we have room for another midfielder......
Signing anyone else will depend on players leaving. Expect for Zinchenko, who is already an extra.

Ndombele and de jong in and delph and gundogan out if it was possible. Zinchenko is younger and can do LB and midfield if required.

For him to gain experience playing in a top European league while Fernandihno see's out his deal.
Alternatively he we could buy him in the summer and loan him back to Ajax for another season, hopefully bringing down his transfer fee a few million

I am pretty sure if Jorginho had arrived Zinchenko would have been sold. Unless he would be happy not playing champions league football he will have to leave if another player arrives.

A few of our bosses were in the chairman suite today and from a senior official the club are extremely confident on ndombele in January! Also wanting to sign de jong but only bring him to city in the summer. Not groundbreaking I know but thought I would share. Interestingly though Barcelona have gone balls deep for de jong and are looking to fund it after getting an offer from Liverpool for Dembele! No denying the dippers mean business from now on if they get Dembele

At Arsenal, at Wolves, Newcastle, Lyon, Hoffenheim to name a few games, he was below par, He has turned it around and had some scintillating games. The latest 4 probably being his 4 best games this season.
But he was has improved. If you can't see that, I can't help you.
