Ndombele (signed for Spurs)

Hopefully we can meet them somewhere in the middle and agree on 60-65m

Well we should still have the Jorginho money sitting nicely there and with Diaz going for £13.5m then an offer of £60m + bonuses should have been our opening bid to get a quick deal done imo

£45m in todays market for a sought after top young talent is not realistic, are we serious about this lad or just trying to rub the selling club up the wrong way again!!!

Sounds like no lessons have been learnt from the Jorghino fiasco.

Think we're living in the past as far as the transfer market is concerned. I fully expect to him to end up at Utd or PSG for around £75-80m.

You'd be a pushover in transfer deals with that approach .

Bit like Woodward .

We've missed out on VVD who takes Liverpool to a new level, Jorginho was a cockup imo. Its ok looking tough in the transfer market but we need a reality check things haved moved on if we want top players we'll have to pay

I'm sure we will have a fee in mind that we believe the player is worth. That doesnt mean it should be the opening bid though.

I believe the poster I replied to was saying something to the effect of " just pay whatever the selling club wants ".

Are you advocating a similar stance ?

I'm not saying pay what the sellling club wants but realistically if the selling club says £75-80m and we offer £45m then we might as well stop wasting our own time and the selling clubs time. £45m is way off the mark, the selling club know the players is in demand and knows his value in the current market & what will happen is Utd, PSG or some other club will come in with a more realistic offer much closer to or matching the selling clubs askng price, offer the player bigger wages and get the deal over line quickly, while we're posturing. If we piss about and take our time, we leave the door open for other clubs. Is Somebody trying to justify their job at City or are we really trying to sign the player?

If true, the £45m offer is, in todays market; unrealistic, laughable and an embaressement to City. Bit of common sense needs to prevail.

If true .........................but with respect I trust the club more than posters on BM who think they are ace negotiators .

Have you been on the Brexit negotiating team? This is the same bloke they paid €8M for in the summer and, somehow, he’s now ten times the player he was then? We should just offer €75M because “Utd might get him”. I can only guess how gutted you were when Fred and Sanchez signed for them and that’s not turned out too badly, has it?

If the interest is mutual and the deal makes sense to our club, then it will get done at the price that suits. If you,and others, haven't yet realised that we have the very best people running our club, then you never will.

You bore the pants off me.

Pay the money not mess about with 3 attempts to finally get to near the fee set by the seller.

If you want then bloody pay it otherwise someone will & that will be 1 more player missed.

But I expect that to happen then you no who will pop up with

We have a price but the player wanted so & so

We never had a chance to sign him blah blah blah.

Just get the transfer done

And you are like a broken fucking record with no credibility whatsoever. Another knownowt gobbing off - very rag/dipper like in your approach.

I don't expect you to be the DOF at City anytime soon - thankfully.
