Ndombele (signed for Spurs)

I thought some of his passing was good, if a bit risky. He obviously has talent on the ball. But he looked lazy as hell to me defensively. Honestly reminded me of the fat, old version of Yaya
I came on to see if anyone thought the same. He seemed a little disinterested in the first and frightening lazy tracking back. Seemed to have a little more juice in the second half but that first half... i dont know. Got me nervous

Was good no doubt but I wonder why we aren't keeping tabs on Aouar who in the few Lyon games I have seen seemed to have outshined Ndombele. Also I think Ndombele looks better whenever Lyon play better opponents. He doesn't look half as good whenver the play "inferior opposition"

Sounds a lot like the Otamendi v Mangala situation back in the day. Anytime I watched Porto, Otamendi was always the better defender, the one organizing andathe better footballer, yet somehow Mangala was the one everyone was after.

Wondered what I was missing. Turned out I wasn't missing anything.

Hope that's not the case here. But again, it is worth noting that Ndombele doesn't see himself as a DM

Ndombele was doubtfull till the day before the game, had an ankle issue

to see him every week (i m french) i think he will be a great addition to the team , Best lyon player already and room for improvment
have no doubt that under Pep, can become a world class complete midfielder

I still see an incredibly one footed player. It’s astounding how good and quick he is that he can wring foot players to get on his right but I really can’t imagine that in Peps system. Maybe I’m wrong and it never gets talked about while everyone wants him so I must be but it’s all I see watching him

Agreed watching that clip it was entirely one foot and that makes him very vulnerable to strong pressing sides.

have to disagree
lyon is a posession team ,offensive relying a lot on technical abilities, playing 4-3-3 with offensive full back and 3 technical midfielders(fekir aouar, ndombele)
even if L1 is a weaker league than PL obviously, a lot in common regarding physical aspect and pace of the game
