Ndombele (signed for Spurs)

Didn’t watch the game since Aouar and Manu both were on the bench, but it sounds like Ndombele did well. Hopefully he’s the midfield player we have agreed a deal with

he'll be the number one target of a lot of clubs, juventus, bayern, united...if city doesnt want to be part of a bidding war it'll be difficult to get him

Said before it's not about a bidding war , it's about the player wanting us first and accepting the wages we want to pay, if that happens and the player makes it clear he wants us we'll pay the fee. If he's wanting the highest wages or added agent fees we won't enter into a bidding war.

For those who’ve seen a lot of Ndombele, what’s Aouar’s defensive ability like? Could he play in Gundogan’s role since Fernandinho’s been injured?

He puts in a lot of tackles, and works very hard, but he might be a little lightweight for the PL. Would be more suited as an 8 I think. Ndombele is way better physically

if he signs for City, my guess is that he will be a starter for france at the euro 2020 along kante and pogba

He seems to be a bit raw on the ball and passing ,tries to bulldoze his way thorugh a bit too much, would need some time for Pep to polish that side of him ,but in defensive side, he seems to be good and he is one heck of a strong player too.

How did he do against Barca ?

Like others have mentioned, I thought he looked quite impressive across both legs - bearing in mind the tactics they employ. He showed how well he can defend and nullify most midfield buildups or line breaking passes (Except those from Leo, of course). Going forward, he never showed any hesitation and found the right outlet every time when exposed to any pressure in the middle of some great midfield battles. Arthur was probably the overall champ of midfield in terms of the statistics and influence but Ndombele had the most tackles & interceptions - outplayed Busquets, for me

My favorite aspect of his game is how he turns away from trouble in midfield and then plays a forward pass - seems simple enough but it's what I always look for in a player in his position. He's confident and aggressive without losing composure - he is just 22 years of age
