Nedum Onuoha the pundit

Not quite sure where to put this, but I had the pleasure today of having an hour long chat with Nedum for my YouTube channel. He's absolutely ace. Genuine honour, and he's brilliant on a whole host of things. Enjoy!

He's honest on Mancini, how it felt to be an oppo player on the 93:20 day, the pressures within the game, social media and much more!

Only 10 minutes in so far but this is already fantastic. Congrats and well done!

Just listening to that now, an excellent listen. Sounds like Ned was treated poorly by Mancini.

Such a great sense of humour Needum, in some ways I feel a little for him and Micah because if we hadn't been bought, they'd have likely become stalwarts/mainstays for the team as it was.

Cheers Twosips.

Cheers all! Glad you enjoyed it. He's a top top bloke and I admire his honesty.
That's a great interview. Thanks for posting it. I watched Nedum and Micah in our youth team and I really believed they were the greatest defensive pair I had ever seen at City at that age. They both went on to have excellent careers but, without the bad injuries they both suffered, they would have been the mainstay of the England team for many years.

It would be good if someone asked him about his favourite Nedum chant, his run v west ham, the goals v spurs and Chelsea, and marking C Ronaldo out of a match with his pace. Or the times he used to go to Old Trafford with Pearce as his 'body guard'.

Also why he didn't batter Ibhahimabitch when he told he his was going to hurt him.

It did give some perspective on why players don't want to take a 95% pay cut stick around at the club in a token role which some fans seem to demand the clubs gives them.

After the QPR game and the celebrations after it, I finally left the stadium to make my way into town to carry on the celebrations. Nedum was outside walking around in a daze. He had seen us win our first title for 34 years and had actually played in the match! A very surreal moment.

watched a lot of his ESPN stuff recently and he's not afraid to pull other pundits up in crap either. all too often when somebody has said something stupid other pundits will sidestep it entirely but he's more than willing to come back to it and address it which is excellent.

Does need to tone down the use of the word "ultimately" though, it's not quite Joleon "yeah definitely" Lescott levels but it's not a million miles away.
