Negredo on his way back to fitness?

"Out until October" and "Back before the end of September" doesn't seem to be a huge difference

Little snippet in an article linking him with a move to Valencia which says

The former Sevilla hero, however, has already returned to light training and the club medics now expect him to be back before the end of September.

I'm ignoring the transfer speculation - I can't see City selling. Not seen any other reports about his recovery.

Websites like this post shite so that people click on the links and view the advertising displayed on the page.

I advise using this website for decent news: <a class="postlink" href="http://www.mcfc.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.mcfc.co.uk</a>
Totally biased, that website.

And even there it deals with transfer rumours doing the Press rounds so we all end up reading them anyway.

Ask yourself this: Why on earth would a manager hell bent on playing 4-4-2 wherever possible, plan to defend our league title with only 3 top strikers??? Especially when Negredo has only been here a year and did amazingly well until he injured his shoulder?

It's not as if we need the money to balance the books, or that he's costing us a fortune, or is a disruptive influence or any other reason. There's no sense whatsoever in selling him and he is doubtless going nowhere.

This article from 'sport in a storm' wouldn't look out of place in the 'agenda' thread. How many times this season will our key players be linked to exit moves to other clubs? Has anyone else noticed just how little interest other clubs have in signing rag players?
Anyway, the good news is that the Best is on the mend. Happy days!
There's a difference between our squad players being linked to Atléti and Valencia and the likes of Cleverly being linked with the likes of Hull.

I suppose we might sell him if we could get Falcao in on a season long loan or something but I agree that the idea we would go into the season with 3 strikers is absurd when we play 2 up front.

True enough, but I discount that possibility on the basis that (a) Falcao's made it pretty plain he wants to be elsewhere, so would his heart be in it here, and (b) who out of Jovetic and Dzeko would we drop to 4th choice. It would cost us quite a lot of money and destabilise the team = daft idea. Negredo stays.

I've just had a peek at physioroom which is far from accurate [last season with Jovetic, Nastasic and Richards being prime examples], and they have Negredo returning TO TRAINING on the 21st September. If this is accurate then both "End of September" and "Out until October" will be correct.
