I think we'll be fine...... But a word of advice, there's NO NEED TO SHOUT, my faculties are perfectly fine!!!! :-)

Chill out, it's only money......

Money, get away
Get a good job with more pay and you're okay
Money, it's a gas
Grab that cash with both hands and make a stash
New car, caviar, four star daydream,
Think I'll buy me a football team

Money get back
I'm alright Jack keep your hands off my stack.
Money it's a hit
Don't give me that do goody good bullshit
I'm in the hi-fidelity first class travelling set
And I think I need a Lear jet

Money it's a crime
Share it fairly but don't take a slice of my pie
Money so they say
Is the root of all evil today
But if you ask for a raise it's no surprise that they're
giving none away

:-)

They are great these guys. They aren't fooling anyone. Thanks very much for the hundreds of posts

If you ask Portsmouth fans if they could turn the clock back would they want to win the FA Cup and go belly up, or plod along financially but with no trophy most will go for the FA Cup. Same here for me.
Don't worry, just enjoy the ride :)

the cake is sweet and delicious but what happens when ur stomach felts sick with the cake u ate and how are u gonna ease urself.i hope we look it through before we go bankrupt as other teams have.i love the club and im think about the future of the team.

It's like asking if we'll go into debt for buying a candy bar. That's how meaningless a few hundred million is to the sheikh.

PS: you're trying too hard.

Almost debt free but spending 100+m a year more than we are bringing in.

However, if in the very very vague chance that the owner walks or gets into difficulty financially we can sell a few ( 4/5 ) high profile players and be fine, the idea of becoming the worlds best team will take a hit.

But with far larger income and far larger profile, better TV rights and CL football we'll still be better off than we were before they took over.

Riddled with ragness <stands and applauds>
There is a whole list of possible expletives but that sir is a gem. Concise, clean and accurate. Cheers Stony

The idea of the Al-Nahyans having financial difficulties are a bit novel, I have the feeling that the whole world have to go tits up first..Apart from the fact that Sheikh Mansour have yet to make a bad deal of consequence to my knowledge, he´s a very bright player in the world of high finance and have direct personal control of assets in excess of $60bn thru IPIC.

The soon to be published accounts for the year to May 2011 will be horrible but I would expect that in this financial year, we would be cash positive. That's not saying we will make a profit but will have more cash coming in than going out. That alone would be a first.

I've had a couple of beers but doesn't that mean we will make a profit ?

No because we have to take expenses like player amortisation into account. But that's not cash, just an accounting entry.

If we have more cash coming in that going out then we should be safe financially. In the Wardle years we regularly had £10m more a year going the other way, hence why we were always in a mess. Cashflow is far more important than what the accounts say, particularly for a football club.
